The toy box is constructed, as much as is practical, from Lego Blocks. The blocks themselves were sourced from Lego headquarters in Denmark and airfreighted to Hobart. An internal frame of mdf has been lacquered to match the blue blocks and then the blocks have been laminated to this structural core .A vinyl padded seat caps off the unit, Lego yellow of course!

As a child I remember sitting next to a huge old suitcase full of Lego blocks. Those thousands of blocks could be made into anything and your imagination was always running wild with possibilities. Now that we have a young child of our own, Lego, toys and storybooks will fill my life once more, and everything needs a home.

I favour clean, classic design. In my business as a furniture designer I follow this ideal. My pieces often rely on the design and the choice of contrasting materials to create impact.

Every now and then you need to have a bit of fun and I find myself thinking of some quirky project. Over the years I’ve designed wine racks that look like Sabretooth Tigers and 50’s style caravans that dogs use as kennels.
