About the Exhibitionclick for larger image

[show+tell] new furniture for 2004 features 21 piece of furniture from 19 of Tasmania's established and emerging furniture designers and makers, each piece inspired by a special object or story.

The exhibition aims to reveal the "mysteries" of the design process and encourage audiences to engage with some of the concepts behind designing.

Visit the exhibition, and try to match the ideas and objects with the pieces.

The participating designers drew inspiration from a wide variety of objects and ideas - seedpods, snakes, aircraft, newborn calves, marshmallows and barcodes just to name a few.
