Furniture Designers Association 2004 Members Exhibition
Waterside Pavilion, Hobart April 23 - May 16 Design Centre, Launceston May 21 - June 13
[show+tell] new furniture for 2004 features 21 piece of furniture from 19 of Tasmania's established and emerging furniture designers and makers, each piece inspired by a special object or story.
The exhibition aims to reveal the "mysteries" of the design process and encourage audiences to engage with some of the concepts behind designing. Visit the exhibition, and try to match the ideas and objects with the pieces.
The participating designers drew inspiration from a wide variety of objects and ideas - seedpods, snakes, aircraft, newborn calves, marshmallows and barcodes just to name a few.

The title of the exhibition also serves to explicate the nature of the exhibition DVD produced by ROAR FILM, a show and tell" style presentation of the work of the participating furniture design practitioners, including interviews with 12 of the participating designers as well as images of designers working
The production of the DVD and promotional material has been assisted by Arts Tasmania.

18 of the pieces in the exhibition are featured on a full colour A1 poster, and in set of 18 postcards. The poster and/or the set of postcards are available from the fda for $4.00 each + postage.
