These lamps are the are the latest additions to our range of interior lighting products. They combine the warmth of a translucent timber shade with the elegant simplicity of a stainless steel base.

The shades are made of Tasmanian timber veneers vacuum laminated to form a translucent light diffuser. Rivets are used to join the shades and as a reference to the copper roves of traditional boat building. The shade brackets are made using CAD and laser cutting technology. The bases are clear coated to stop marking and flat pack for easy shipping.

Axiom’s distinctive clean lines and simplicity of design are the partnership’s hallmark. The clear contrasting landscape forms of Tasmania and it’s maritime heritage are inspiration for our designs. Living on an island, we feel isolation breeds improvisation through necessity.

We believe in the economic use of Tasmania’s unique timber resources. Axiom is committed to the environment and ensures these precious timber resources are managed responsibly, through on going involvement in conservation projects.

The inspiration for these designs are Port and Starboard channel markers/lights. Navigation lights are simple and utilitarian in form and provide direction and comfort to seafarers when making night passages.
