stainless steel, silky oak

The Table and Chairs have been designed to be an intimate dining setting for two. They have been constructed from silky oak, ply and stainless steel.click here for larger image

The setting is influenced by an array of Nautical elements such as stainless steel fittings, carved rudder stems and moulded hulls. The functional and aesthetic considerations used to create a vessel which is streamlined, light weight and yet able to weather a storm, have been reinvestigated in my design process.

The round table was designed such that two people would sit beside one another looking out toward the sea, whilst also being able to focus on each other and chat intimately.

The chairs are light and elegant. They are refined to their essential elements ensuring gently curved lines and forms predominate. The front legs and frame contrast the stainless steel back legs, but are integrally joined and reliant on each other
