Macquarie
Wharf No 1 Shed
designed; made
is a one-day indoor/outdoor display of Tasmanian designed and made
furniture, jewellery, homewares, ceramics, and textiles.
Held
twice yearly (May and December), this open air design event allows a mix
of established and emerging craft and design practitioners to come together
in a public space to promote and market their work and
exchange ideas with both the design and broader community.
Despite a week of
warm and balmy autumn weather, the day dawned cool and wet, but steady
crowds throughout the day helped to make all the hard work worthwhile.
The stalls all looked great, with a fantastic selection of craft and
design objects on display.
If you missed the
event, or you want to contact one of the makers, here's a quick review of
what was on display. We'll be back in December with another show of
great work, but in the meantime...
