designed; made

the place where ideas and objects meet

Sunday December 5th 2010, saw the first designed; made at forecourt of Princes Wharf No. 1.

This great venue was complimented by beautiful weather, an amazing array of top quality work, and best of, all a fantastic and appreciative crowd.  Whilst we have been very pleased with the crowds that have turned up to previous designed; made events, we were unprepared for but pleasantly surprised by the numbers that arrived early to make sure they didn't miss a single thing.

As in past years, designed; made featured a mix of furniture, jewellery, ceramics, glass, fashion, homewares, accessories, gifts and more, from over 50 of Tasmania's best artisans and designers.  Students from the Tasmanian Polytechnic and from the UTAS Tasmanian School of Art furniture design studio, also came along, to show us what they had been working on through the year.

Thank you to Baristasista and Mondomama for keeping both the stall holders and crowd happy with delicious coffee, cakes and fantastic food.

Princes Wharf No. 1 is now closed for the next few months for the second stage of building works, but that won't stop us holding our regular May designed; made.

We have been fortunate to secure Macquarie Wharf No. 1 Shed for the next designed; made on Sunday 1st May 2011,  and applications are now open.  Click here for more info and to download application forms

If you missed all the fun or want to get in touch with one of the designers, here's a reminder of what was on display at designed; made
